General Hospital alum Antonio Sabato Jr. is feeling a little salty after his snub. The actor has made some comments about not being asked back to the hit ABC soap to reprise his role as Jagger Cates even though it’s been 30 years since he was last on the show. Here’s what you need to know.

General Hospital News: Antonio Sabato Jr Gets Salty After His Snub

Antonio took to his Instagram account to address the issue after it was revealed that actor Adam J. Harrington had been cast as the new Jagger Cates. He said, “At the beginning of my career, I started on a character that I truly, truly adore, that I created with Wendy Riche, the executive producer, and an amazing team of writers at General Hospital back in 1992. I was on General Hospital from 92 to 94, playing a character by the name of John “Jagger” Cates. I’ve been asked by the fans by millions all over the world, not just in America and in North America, but all over the world, about coming back to General Hospital for 30 years. Now, like I said, I’m doing very well. I’m not begging to go back on the show. This is not about that. I have many careers. I’m still acting very well. I have a movie coming out. I have a lot of things coming out and I’m very proud of.”

Antonio continued, “I’ve never been asked to come back on General Hospital for 30 years. The producers at General Hospital, ABC, and Disney, they know where to find me. They know where I am. The fans always ask me every single day, ‘Are you going back to General Hospital?”

General Hospital News: Antonio Has Made His Stance Clear

Of course, many General Hospital fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some of them commented on the matter with, “He was only on the show for 2 years. Give me a break. And he was part of an extremely popular teen scene ensemble, Robin, Brenda, Jason Q, AJ. His leaving led to Stone Cates and the extremely popular Number 1 story, Stone & Robin AIDS/HIV love story,” along with, “This would have way more impact, imo if he wasn’t ignoring his own return to the role for 14 episodes in 2008 16 years vs. the 30 he claims here. Especially that almost all of the recast appearance was rooted on his own ignored work in 08. I guess claiming 30 years is more.”

Another General Hospital critic wrote, “Maybe just maybe he needs to take some self responsibility. He commented on INGOs post that Frank needed to be fired and locked the doors and threw away the keys.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Omg I’m so embarrassed for him. Yes, he created the role. But he played Jagger for TWO years almost THIRTY years ago. Dude, in the words of Queen Elsa: ‘Let it go.’”

Needless to say, fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next. General Hospital airs weekdays on the ABC network. Check your local listings for times.
