Married At First Sight’s Dr. Pepper Schwartz Reveals How Experts Pulled Off Michael’s Historic 2nd Wedding
Married At First Sight’s Dr. Pepper Schwartz shared with Screen Rant about how Michael’s historic second MAFS wedding came together, explaining why the experts felt it could work. After experiencing another major first earlier on Married At First Sight season 17 when Michael’s initial bride left him at the altar, things were rocky for the entirety of the cast of the series. The Denver MAFS cast has already been through their fair share of drama, and with just two of the five initial couples left standing midway through the season, the experts were hopeful they’d be able to make another match to bring another couple into the mix.
According to Dr. Pepper, “The more we got to know Michael, the more we liked him. He was thoughtful, considerate, and sensitive…we just thought he deserved the chance to have somebody be his lifetime partner, and somebody deserved the chance to be his.” While the team thought they could potentially re-match Michael, they weren’t sure at first. The Married At First Sight expert shared, “when we talked to Michael, he changed his priorities from when we first interviewed him. At the top of those priorities after his experience was kindness…since his priorities had changed, [Chloe] shot up in our estimation.”

While Michael and Chloe’s wedding is a historic moment for Married At First Sight, it’s also potentially the biggest day in both of their lives. Despite the fact that Michael was originally matched with someone else, Chloe was another choice the experts had considered for him early on. In making their match, Dr. Pepper shared she felt, “her values aligned [with Michael’s] and they agreed on what was important in life…I felt on terms of what he wanted and what she wanted, that they really were very good for one another. An excellent match.” While Chloe and Michael’s future is still unclear, the experts were certain they’d work well together.
With Michael’s wedding to Chloe being a massive moment for Married At First Sight, showing the first-ever second chance wedding for a participant, many are hopeful to see Michael and Chloe find happiness together. Michael and Chloe will join the two remaining MAFS season 17 couples, Emily & Brennan and Becca & Austin, on the series to see if they’ll choose to continue their relationships past Decision Day. With Lauren & Orion and Clare & Cameron choosing to call it quits before the season’s end, the couples have dissolved their marriages and are living their lives separately despite the MAFS experts having tried their best to match them up.
Though it will likely remain to be seen until Decision Day, MAFS fans are hopeful that Michael and Chloe’s marriage will be the match both of them have been waiting for. After an experience like the one Michael had going into Married At First Sight season 17, knowing that he’s still invested in finding love and hopeful about his future with Chloe is sweet.
