Married at First Sight

Chloe Brown Is Trying To Be The Classiest Married At First Sight Season 17 Cast Member (But Is She Being Fake?)

Chloe Brown tried to seem like the bigger person on Married at First Sight season 17 but that may have been an act. Chloe got married to Michael Shiakallis, but she was his second bride. In a Married at First Sight first, Michael’s original bride met him at the altar only to tell him she wasn’t ready to marry a stranger. Michael was devastated but handled the situation maturely. In the meantime, the other four couples tied the knot and entered into the eight-week experiment. However, none of the couples remained married by the end of the season.

Michael and Chloe began their Married at First Sight journey when the other couples were halfway through the experiment. They took their honeymoon without the other couples and had a unique experience not doing the process alongside the rest of the group. Chloe and Michael seemed well matched and the pair seemed like the only hopeful couple of season 17, but that changed when Michael said no to Chloe on Decision Day after she said yes to him. He cited not being able to give Chloe everything she wanted and not being ready for marriage as his reasons.

The MAFS Season 17 Girl Clique Explained

Since Chloe started the experiment halfway through, she was not a part of everything that went on with the other wives – and there was a lot. Emily Balch was paired with Brennan Shoykhet who said he wasn’t attracted to Emily after the honeymoon, and he only gave his reason why close to the end of the eight weeks. He said Emily was not the “positive, positive,” person he asked for and said Emily showed mean and judgmental tendencies. Emily thought differently and harbored animosity toward Brennan for not being interested.

Clare Kerr and Cameron Frazer didn’t work out on the surface due to religious and attraction differences, but behind the scenes, they both hurled allegations that the other was trying to silence them. Becca Haley and Austin Reed said yes to each other on Decision Day only to break up the next day. They had issues over religion, intimacy paces, and optics. Orion Martzloff asked for a divorce from Lauren Goodger upon returning from the honeymoon after they had stark differences on the getaway.

The four season 17 women who started the process banded together in their shared anger and resentment toward their exes and formed a problematic girl click that Chloe was not a part of. At the Reunion, the season 17 women wore pink in solidarity and made themselves look bitter by trying to put all the blame for their relationships not working out on their exes (via Lifetime.) While Chloe’s disengagement with her fellow female cast members did not seem that apparent at the Reunion, things became crystal clear during the “Where Are They Now?” episode where the women’s animosity toward Chloe was explained.

Chloe, Lauren, & Michael Drama Explained

Since Lauren has been part of the close-knit and opinionated Married at First Sight season 17 girl group, it was conveyed that those women stuck together in their feelings. In a scene from “Where Are They Now?” Lauren and Clare met up with Michael and Lauren and Michael brought up the idea that they should have been paired together.

“The internet has been willing this.”

Michael and Lauren seemed very flirtatious throughout their meeting but Michael chalked it up to “game recognize game.” At that point, it did not seem like Michael and Chloe had made it any farther than talking about the idea that they should have potentially been matched together. However, a sudden twist came via a video diary from Lauren who said she and Chloe were “no longer friends.”

Lauren said Chloe got mad when she added Michael on social media, which led to Chloe becoming “irate” according to Lauren. Lauren shaded Chloe in her address, but Chloe responded with a pointed statement. Chloe and Lauren, along with the rest of the women, did not have a relationship after that.

” She forgets where his loyalty lies.”

Chloe Has Tried To Rise Above The Issues

Chloe became close with the Married at First Sight season 17 men, and that initiated rumors that Chloe was a husband stealer. Chloe said there was no merit to those accusations and asserted that the season 17 women had “residual anger” and made a burner social media account to write slanderous things about her.

Chloe dished on the drama that was apparently happening behind the scenes but endeavored to rise above it and not entertain any of the notions she thought came from her costars.

Chloe seemed to want to have the last word in any drama involving the season 17 women and put the pot-stirring all on them.

Is Chloe Being Fake?

Chloe, 39, seems to be an image-conscious person who endeavors to act her age. She is careful about the things she says and is admittedly a “recovering perfectionist.” Her self-label means that she hasn’t always been authentic or true to herself, and that may be the case in her drama with the season 17 women. She may be pushing a narrative to make herself seem like the victim, along with the Married at First Sight men, in the women’s vendetta.

Chloe has already been accused of being a clout chaser this season as she dished on her shocking past hanging out with celebrities. Her appearance on Married at First Sight may have been an attempt to become relevant in the reality TV world, and the drama with the season 17 women may have just been a ploy to get more screen time. Since a lot of fakeness has been exposed in season 17, Chloe may be privy to that and also endeavored to control the optics like the rest of the cast. In any case, Chloe is coming off as the classiest cast member, but it could all be for show.
