Caitlin Clark’s Cold Reaction To Breaking Sue Bird Record Says It All

Caitlin Clark took a lot of stick on Sunday in the Indiana Fever’s 81-74 victory over the Minnesota Lynx. Despite helping lead her team to their second straight win, the fact that Clark set a new WNBA record for the most turnovers in a single season was a forgettable feat that the naysayers just had to jump on.

That wasn’t the only achievement for Clark on the day, though. After dishing out another six dimes against Minnesota, the 22-year-old phenom was able to surpass WNBA legend Sue Bird for the second-most assists by a rookie in a single season.

It’s a remarkable achievement, no doubt, which is exactly why Clark was asked to comment on the same in her post-game press conference. The Fever star, however, had an unexpectedly cold reaction to her most recent feat:

“Not really. Probably something I won’t remember,” Clark responded when asked if it meant more to her that she achieved her latest milestone in Minneapolis. “I don’t know, it’s cool. Yep.”

That’s just Clark being brutally honest for you. With the myriad of records she’s already set at this point in her career — and the many more to come — this one just doesn’t move the needle that much for the Fever superstar.
