One question that the General Hospital fandom never gets tired of asking is, “When will Jason Morgan be back?” The fact that his body was never recovered from under the rubble has always given fans hope that he may return at some point. Jason’s death on-screen was only a way to accommodate actor Steve Burton’s departure from the soap. Which happened due to non compliance of the then active COVID mandate. However, the mandate has now been long dropped. Thus, eliminating all the hurdles that stood between Steve returning as Jason. Most interestingly, GH’s current storyline has made the perfect opportunity for the most-awaited return! Dive right in to read all about it!
Currently, on General Hospital, Sonny has landed in a major pickle with the FBI. The feds have managed to get their hands on some evidence against him. And as a result the revered PC don is facing an arrest. In the September, 5, 2023, episode, Dante name-dropped Jason. When Sam tried to comfort him by reminding Dante the number of times Sonny has managed to slip out of such tight grips. Dante sulked that that was when Jason was beside Sonny, and he’s not around anymore.
Interestingly, when Dex had entered Sonny’s mob on General Hospital, and even saved him from a close call, it felt like GH was trying to turn him into Jason 2.0. Unfortunately, though, Dex has miserably failed in that department. He couldn’t even properly get rid of incriminating evidence against Sonny that he himself recorded and had possession of. When Carly smashed the flash drive, Dex just casually tossed it in a public trash can like a candy wrapper! Even a rookie wouldn’t do that! Ideally he should’ve burned it down to ashes and made it completely unrecoverable. Alas, it might be too late to rectify that mistake!
Although there is no doubt that Sonny will eventually find a way to get out of this mess, if he hasn’t already. And no thanks to Dex for that on General Hospital. But this still goes on to prove that Jason Morgan is perhaps irreplaceable. Moreover, with the vaccine mandate tossed out, and Steve being in fine terms with the production, we can’t see why he may not return! What do you think? Wouldn’t it be so thrilling to see Jason unexpectedly sweep in and save the day for Sonny?
