90 Day Fiancé

90 Day Fiancé’s Tejaswi Is A Major Letdown (He’s Just Like Sumit & Rishi)

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Tejaswi (TJ) Goswami is the third male Indian native to be introduced as a cast member in the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off after Sumit Singh and Rishi Singh. The 33-year-old lives in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. His partner Kimberly is from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and is 30. Tejaswi and Kimberly met through a social media spiritual group but only started talking after TJ manifested her into texting him by using her picture, and she dreamed of walking through a desert with him. Regardless, Tejaswi and Kimberly were engaged within a year and even got their families’ approval.

Tejaswi’s 90 Day Fiancé storyline is different from Rishi and Sumit’s in the sense that both their families have agreed to the wedding, and there are no issues regarding age differences. However, some things make Tejaswi similar to Rishi and Sumit, especially when it comes to his expectations from Kimberly as a dutiful Indian daughter-in-law in his traditional household. Previews of Kimberly and Tejaswi’s plot already show them yelling at each other. She tells him he’s failing at being a good partner to her, and Tejaswi asks her to not marry him.

Tejaswi Stays With His Parents & Brother On 90 Day Fiancé

Tejaswi takes viewers on a tour of his home in Jaipur during his introduction. He revealed he lives with his father, Sushil, his mother, Alka, and brother Yash. Rishi also lived with his mom, uncle, and brother under one roof in the same city as Tejaswi. Sumit, as well, was sharing a home with his mom, dad, brother, and his then-wife before he moved in with Jenny in secret. Jen, meanwhile, had an issue with staying with Rishi’s family. She instead wanted to move to a big city like Mumbai, but Rishi, being a family man, refused to do so, leading to their split.

“My family is a little traditional,” Tejaswi told the cameras adding, “when it comes to social norms.” In Tejaswi’s family, women “take care” of the whole house and do the “cooking, cleaning from the beginning of the day to the end of the day.” Tejaswi has not told Kimberly about these rules of his house but expects to do so after they get married. Being traditional was also a trait of Sumit and Rishi’s families. Sumit’s parents expected a daughter-in-law to be someone who would give them a grandkid and do the household chores, while Jenny was older than Sumit’s mom herself and kept her kitchen unclean.

Jen was aslo rejected by Rishi’s momas she was much older than Rishi. Kimberly being the same age as Tejaswi could have been one of the reasons why his family accepted her into their home. Nonetheless, being a daughter-in-law in the Goswami family comes with its responsibilities. She will have to quit eating onions and garlic to follow the rules of his Jain household. Kimberly won’t get privacy in the household always being surrounded by Tejaswi’s family. While Tejaswi expects his family to be flexible and knows Kimberly is adaptable, he wants his parents also to compromise.

Tejaswi’s Family Has Defined Stereotypical Roles For Men & Women

Tejaswi worries that Kimberly thinking “just like a U.S. girl” will cause a conflict between her and his family. Since Tejaswi believes that a man has to go out and earn for the family when a wife is expected to do the cooking and cleaning, it’s not known whether Kimberly will accept these stereotypes set by this family. Even in Rishi’s case, he had even taken Jen to a friend’s home for some Indian wife training. As Kimberly is merely 10 days away from getting married to Tejaswi, it remains to be seen what will happen to her after her 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way wedding.
