90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alum, Nicola Kanaan, currently lives in Israel. Nicola made his reality TV show debut during season 6 of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off. He is 46 years old and has been dating his 43-year-old girlfriend, Meisha Johnson, for the past seven years. Nicola works as the CEO of Novena Prayer, a website he founded in 2016. His faith led him to Meisha, who was looking to know more about the Catholic Church after experiencing a spiritual awakening. Meisha used to work as an anchor on CBS & FOX.
Meisha gave up her successful career to be the director of pastoral care for a church in Minneapolis. Meisha and Nicola were in an online relationship for a while before she flew to Israel to meet him in person. Nicola wasn’t sure if his family would accept Meisha, who has two teenage daughters and was once married. Nicola’s mother gave the couple their blessing, so Nicola came to the U.S. as a tourist after he got engaged to Meisha. While the couple may have been planning out his K-1 visa, Nicola, who’s in Israel right now, is having to witness the 2023 Israel–Hamas war.
Nicola Stays In Nahariya In Israel
Nicola spoke about his life in Israel during episode 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Nicola said he lives in Israel in a city called Nahariya with his mother. Living with his mom is “hard” for Nicola because she can’t hear well. However, staying with one’s parents until one gets married is a “Galilee tradition,” says Nicola. According to Israel Travel Secrets, Nahariya is located in Israel’s Western Galilee. It’s a few miles south of the Lebanese border. The town was established in 1935. The land was purchased from a Lebanese landowner to make it into an agricultural settlement, but it became more of a small industrial town.
Nicola Is Catholic
Nicola lives a simple life, devoting himself to the Lord. Nicola didn’t become a devout Catholic because of his mom or dad. Nicola’s parents never went to church, but Nicola’s grandmother used to be a Catholic nun in Nazareth. His grandmother always taught him about praying the rosary, and going to mass since he was six or seven years old. Nicola’s day involves waking up in the morning, praying, and then working on his Catholic website about traditional Catholic novenas, which are prayers that last for nine days. He gets almost half a million visitors per month.
According to Nicola, Israel only has two percent of Catholics in its population. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for someone like Nicola to find a partner. Nicola wasn’t looking to date when he found Meisha online. He had been praying to God to send him the right woman at the right time. He never thought he would end up in a relationship with a divorced woman from the U.S. “When you give your life to Jesus and you trust him, God does things that you don’t expect,” Nicola said.

On October 15, 2023, Meisha went live on Instagram for the first time. Meisha informed her followers that Nicola was safe and thanked God for keeping him safe. “We don’t know what tomorrow might bring, especially in the time of war,” Meisha added but assured the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days viewers that Nicola is safe. Meisha said that Nicola is “in and out of shelter,” but for the most part, he has been at home. Meisha had tears in her eyes as she spoke about Nicola doing everything in his power to stay safe and help the people around him.
