Nicole got married to Cairo-based Mahmoud within two weeks of meeting him. Nicole converted to Islam and stayed in Egypt for two months until she realized that Mahmoud’s restrictions on her clothing and lifestyle were not worth the sacrifice. She has now managed to get Mahmoud to the U.S. on a spousal visa. However, it’s doing nothing to help fix Nicole and Mahmoud’s married life, which seemingly ended after Mahmoud’s February 2024 arrest.

They observed that Nicole had hidden all the photos of Mahmoud from her Instagram feed, but they are all back now. “So I guess the rumor I heard after he got arrested for [alleged] abuse was right…That she was gonna wait for him till he was out,” the fan added. They said they were left wondering if it was Nicole who reported Mahmoud or whether it was a neighbor.
Should Nicole & Mahmoud Get Divorced?
Nicole and Mahmoud have been together for five years now. They celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in February 2024. However, just a few weeks later, news of Mahmoud being arrested for alleged domestic abuse surfaced online. He had reportedly been in an altercation with Nicole. Mahmoud and Nicole have quarreled in almost every episode of 90 Day Fiancé they’ve starred in. Nicole was close to getting a divorce from Mahmoud before she signed up for The Other Way and went to Egypt to live with Mahmoud for the second time. She decided she couldn’t live in Cairo with Mahmoud, though.
Mahmoud knew he wanted to keep his wife happy and, hence, followed Nicole to the U.S. in May 2023.

He wanted to go back and missed his friends and family even more when he saw a hijabi woman. However, Nicole felt Mahmoud staring at the woman meant he wished that she was his wife instead of Nicole. Mahmoud was also still trying to control what Nicole wore in public.
Nicole is tired of complaining about Mahmoud controlling her to her friends. Now that her friends have met him, it wouldn’t be surprising if they asked her to divorce him. Mahmoud is shown leaving Nicole’s house with packed suitcases in a preview for the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? It’s him giving Nicole another chance to divorce him and send him back to Egypt, where he would be happiest without her. However, Nicole chooses to stay with Mahmoud despite their issues, making for a lot of confusion about why she is still with her toxic husband.
