Married At First Sight: Clint’s Gross Comments Divided Fans

Married at First Sight has long been a show that can squeeze every ounce of drama from its cast. The show might pride itself on the occasional perfect match, but in truth, most couples are awful pairings that put each other through the wringer and come out the other side in shock of what they went through.

Season 16 of the popular show featured Clint and Gina. For fans, it was obvious that these two lacked any semblance of romantic chemistry.

During their honeymoon, their lack of chemistry took a turn for the worst, after Clint made comments on Gina’s size.

Clint Told Gina That He Doesn’t Normally Date Women Her Size

According to Clint, his new wife, Gina, didn’t fit in with what he would normally be attracted to.

“The physical component, typically, the girls that I’ve dated are very athletic, slender. That’s just the mold that I’m attracted to,” Clint said, following Gina’s comments regarding her lack of attraction to him.

Fellow cast member, Domynique, said during a confessional, My jaw is on the floor. I’m in shock right now. Like, read the room. You’re sitting in a room with curvy women. What the hell, bro?”

Absolute stunner of a comment by Clint. Commenting on a woman’s body is a massive no-no, and doing so on camera sealed his fate early on.

Later on, Clint admitted to popping off at the mouth.

“Sometimes I say ridiculous, crazy comments and they’re right off the cuff,” he said in an exclusive clip.

After Kristen let him know he was “strong and wrong,” Clint explained further.

“Strong and wrong! But let’s focus on the wrong part. So I said some comments that were like off the cuff and in the moment, and it wasn’t to disparage anyone. And so, I talked about, like, ‘slender’ and ‘athletic,’ and I don’t think it hit the right way,” he added.

He then admitted it was the wrong choice of words.

As you’d imagine, the reaction to Clint’s words was strong, as multiple articles were published regarding the situation.

Interestingly, there were some who were fine with what he said.

“Clint said what he said to jab back at the Goofy lady for calling him unattractive and continuing the jabs at him. He took the first few times with grace and when he had enough he got back. She deserved it and he did nothing wrong,” one Reddit user wrote.

That user, of course, is referring to Gina’s comments that might have fueled Clint’s response.

Prior to Clint dropping his bomb, Gina made it clear that she is not into guys that look like him.

“I think the one thing, it’s interesting, the one thing that I was like, ‘Just, I don’t really vibe with redheads or like gingery features.’ And not to say that you’re unattractive, just that’s what you are. And so I was like, OK. He’s gingery, like not my typical…”

Clint took exception to this.

“For her to verbalize that so early in our relationship, I’m disappointed,” he told production.

Later on, Gina talked physical attraction in a group setting.

“I have been in a relationship where that has grown later. It was one of the best relationships I’ve had and it wasn’t someone I was initially — had a physical spark with,” Gina admitted to the group.

This all preceded Clint’s comments regarding his preference. Not a great look all around.

And wouldn’t you know it, they didn’t last.

Gina And Clint Ended Up Divorced On The Show

In what came as a surprise to absolutely no one, Clint and Gina opted for divorce. The two could never seem to get things right and, at best, they were okay friends.

“We never felt the initial spark, and I think we really tried to get there, and continue to look for it. And we never got there,” Gina said about their failed union.

“It truly was a challenge for us to get through those physical pieces of the relationship,” Clint said.

According to PEOPLE, he did admit the couple had some strengths.

“As far as just our communication was strong, we had a lot of fun together, we could joke, we had Hank. You know, we had a lot of the components that you really need in a strong relationship,” he admitted.

Clint and Gina were doomed early on, and hurtful words didn’t help.
