General Hospital spoilers claim Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has been dancing around the truth for weeks. When he learned that Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) — his brand new bride — was the culprit behind the SEC investigation against Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), he exiled Nina from his life nearly on the spot.
Not interested in speaking to her since, we’ve been on pins and needles wondering whether he would finally take off his wedding band, call Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) to file for divorce, and get this show on the road. Well folks, it appears that time has come — and we can bet it’s going to be his most epic romantic breakdown yet.

Diane swooped into action right away after Sonny gave Nina the boot from his life. She was certain that he would want her to draw up the papers and move forward as quickly as possible.
She was also respectful of his decision to push pause and give it some thought — even if she thought she knew what was best for him.
Still, this isn’t the same Sonny that Diane has known over the years. Normally, he’s been so impulsive and quick to quit anything that wasn’t serving him well.
The post-Nixon Falls Sonny lets things simmer. But when he makes that call to his attorney, we better believe she’ll be ready and willing to get him out of this marriage she never thought he should have entered into.

So far, Nina has found hope in the fact that Sonny hasn’t filed for divorce. He might be icing her out, but the longer that he keeps her at a distance while not taking any permanent action.
The more Nina seems to convince herself that there are decent odds she will be moving back into the penthouse and sharing the rest of her life with her husband.
So when he files for divorce and Nina finds herself served with those papers, it’s going to bring her to the brink.

As expected, Nina will likely plead with Sonny to reconsider his decision the very moment she learns he wants out. But we know Sonny, and he’s not going to bend to Nina’s begging. Instead, it may only serve to affirm the way he feels — tired of Nina’s melodrama and antics.
When Nina doesn’t get the message, Sonny just might take things a step further to seal his fate away from his soon-to-be ex-wife. After all, the guy has never been good at living the single life.
The moment he files for divorce, he’ll consider himself such, and that means he might be cozying up to someone else sooner than anyone expected. But who might that be?
Ava Jerome (Maura West) has been shacking up at his place and seems like the most likely woman to fall into Sonny’s bed next.
