90 Day: The Last Resort- Michael Ilesanmi Doesn’t Have A Visa Yet & Here’s Why

90 Day: The Last Resort star Angela Deem is at the retreat alone because Michael Ilesanmi doesn’t have a U.S. visa yet. The 56-year-old stars in the spin-off with husband Michael, 34, who’s from Nigeria. Angela and Michael married in January 2020, and it’s been three years since Michael has been waiting for his visa. The only time Angela sees Michael is when she travels to Nigeria. During episode 1, Angela claimed that the longer she waits to start living like a married couple, the more doubts she has.

Angela doesn’t have her husband with her at the 90 Day: The Last Resort season 1 couple’s retreat, all she does is turn on her iPad so Michael can join the show through video calls. The couple has two weeks to sort out the issues between them, primarily involving Michael cheating on Angela with a 30-year-old American woman he met on Instagram. Angela wants Michael to acknowledge he has a problem. If that doesn’t happen, she’s handing him divorce papers. Angela says divorcing her is just a sign away, and there’s nothing he can do about it.

Angela Claimed Marriage To Michael Isn’t “Legit” In The US

Angela made a shocking claim during the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 Tell-All. Angela was arguing with Michael and his aunt Lydia during part 1. Angela expected Michael to tell her to respect Angela, while Lydia questioned why Angela chose to have weight loss surgery instead of having a baby with Michael.

Angela tried to put a wedge between Michael and Lydia. According to Angela, Michael told her not to get too close to Aunt Lydia. When Michael claimed Angela was lying, she attempted to break up with Michael. “I don’t wanna divorce, I’ll just do what I what to do. I am married in Nigeria, it ain’t legit here,” Angela said while walking off the Tell-All set.

Is Michael’s Nigerian Background The Reason?

Angela said that her marriage was not real. She admitted it wasn’t legit in America, at least while she’s not in Nigeria. Meanwhile, Reddit user MizC-714 made a post asking for an explanation about Michael’s visa and traveling options. “Their age gap makes it almost impossible and then he could be stereotyped because some people associate Nigeria with scamming,” one user wrote in the comment section.

They added, “Unfortunately consular officials use their own discretion and do not tell you why it’s denied. It will just be a verbal denial or a letter with a code like 214b.” Another user pointed out that Michael’s K-1 visa was likely denied. “My guess is probably they thought it wasn’t a genuine relationship so actually getting married was meant to bolster their claim that the relationship is genuine,” they claimed.

Angela & Michael’s Age Gap Could Sabotage His Visa Chances

The considerable age gap between 90 Day: The Last Resort’s Michael and Angela could be another red flag. Angela is 22 years older than Michael, making them one of the most infamous franchise relationships when it comes to age differences. Michael’s application could be scrutinized because his marriage with Angela looks like a scam, considering it all began over a random Facebook message where he lied about his age to look older. Moreover, Michael cheated on Angela during their marriage. It’s been a part of their storyline since; this could suggest his relationship with Angela isn’t genuine and affects his chances of coming to the U.S.
