The 40-year-old American man and 27-year-old Brazilian woman were first introduced in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 1, when Paul hid his criminal record from his young girlfriend and the troubled pair got married despite a significant language barrier and only really knowing each other online.
After getting married, Paul and Karine welcomed two children, Pierre and Ethan. However, they were both deemed unfit parents, and their sons were taken from them, and there is an ongoing custody battle. During this turbulent time, Paul allegedly kidnapped his son, though he denies this, and Karine even alluded to his death. Additionally, Paul went missing again, which he claimed was a miscommunication. Despite all the conflicting messages regarding Paul’s whereabouts and the custody battle, he and Karine showed up unexpectedly.

According to Reddit user u/dwuhan12, Karine and Paul were spotted together at Disney. Their reconciliation comes as a surprise, and the irony of the location wasn’t lost on 90 Day Fiancé viewers. Karine is seen wearing a dress and sporting a pair of mouse ears, whereas Paul looks down at his phone. “What a couple of clowns. Enjoy Disney while your kids are in foster care,” shared one user, while another wrote, “Oooffff. I wish I had the kind of confidence that it takes to walk around Disney wearing kids ears looking like a moron knowing that I lost custody of my kids.”
Are Karine and Paul Still In A Custody Battle?
Allegedly, Paul and Karine are still in a custody battle for their two boys, Pierre and Ethan, who are in foster care. Given they were at a theme park for children without them, They appear to have not gained custody rights yet. While Paul and Karine are still married, they are supposedly not together.
Paul fueled dating rumors with 18-year-old Izabele Medeiros in late 2022, but there’s been little evidence of a relationship since.
