90 Day Fiancé couple Avery and Omar Albakour have an even more exciting update to share with fans after revealing news of his American citizenship. Avery and Omar met on Muslim dating app Muzmatch, when American woman Avery converted to Islam. The 19-year-old Avery from Colombia, Ohio, had traveled to Syria to marry Omar. They spent their first married life apart until Omar could get his U.S. visa but relocated to Dubai, where they spent time as a married couple. Eventually, Omar moved to America once his visa was approved.

She shared a photo of Omar to congratulate him on his latest achievement. Avery wrote, “Congrats,” and proceeded to call her husband “handsome, intelligent and hard-working” in her sweet note. She addressed it to “Dr Albakour,” finally revealing that Omar is now a full-fledged doctor of dentistry. Avery shared a picture of Omar from what looked like his college or place of work where he was surrounded by his colleagues in scrubs for a happy group photo.

Omar sat with his hands crossed in front of a doorway decorated with colorful balloons and a sign that spelled out the word “congrats.” Avery added the song “Congratulations” by Post Malone on her Instagram Story to make her wish for Omar extra special. Omar was accepted to Rutgers Dental School in December 2022. Avery shared a video of Omar’s White Coat ceremony on Instagram, but it has since been deleted. The ceremony was held a year ago, in May 2023. Omar already had a dental degree from back home, but he needed to complete a dental program in America.
Omar will now be able to practice dentistry in his new home country. Avery asked her fans to tell her where Omar should open a dentist’s office in the future. Omar and Avery have been married for five years now and are possibly one of the best 90 Day Fiancé couples fans have met through the franchise. While they haven’t documented all their struggles on TV, fans have known that achieving his dream was not easy for Omar. He even earned money on the side by driving for Lyft. Meanwhile, Avery has become a successful perfume influencer on TikTok.
However, Avery wants to work in the healthcare industry in the future, much like her husband. At times, it seemed like Omar and Avery were never going to work out, but they have managed to be in one of the franchise’s longest relationships. The couple moved into a fancy new house in South Jersey in March 2024, shortly before Omar achieved these major life milestones in June 2024.
