Former 90 Day Fiancé star Yamir Castillo is focusing on his music career (and having a fun time in California) after appearing on the show, and it’s time to share more details about his life today. The Nicaragua resident was 28 years old when he first debuted in season 2 with the Galesburg resident, Chelsea Macek. The couple met at a music event, where the young man performed onstage. Eventually, the couple fell in love and got engaged.
During 90 Day Fiancé’s Yamir Castillo and Chelsea Macek’s journey on the show, they faced many challenges, from disagreements over wedding themes to incompatibility issues. However, they eventually tied the knot, and began their separate careers in the United States. Unfortunately, the 90 Day Fiancé season 2 pair had different goals for their future. While Chelsea wanted a slow life as a teacher in her town, Yamir’s producers told him to move to Chicago to elevate his music career. As a result, the two ended their relationship in 2016, and Chelsea married another man in 2021.

While Chelsea has settled down with someone else, Yamir is still unmarried, and enjoying his life in the United States. In 2021, he took to his Instagram to share a photo of himself wearing a black outfit, while standing with a small American flag. Yamir wrote, “Thanks for giving me this opportunity,” while revealing that he is finally a United States citizen, years after moving to the country. In the post, the Nicaragua native looked extremely happy, as 90 Day Fiancé viewers (and fans of his music) showered him with positive compliments, such as, “Wow you did it Congratulations,” and, “You’re so worth of shout out.”

Yamir has also progressed in his music career after settling in the United States. In March 2022, he launched his new song, and proudly revealed that it was available on all platforms. He titled his piece, “#IMAGINÁNDOTE,” the Spanish phrase for, “Imagining you.” Yamir got thousands of views on the post, and dozens of positive comments from his fans. An Instagram user wrote, “I’m really happy to see you still making music!” Another user commented, “Papiiii wow!,” and said that the 90 Day Fiancé alum had great energy. In November 2022, Yamir collaborated with another musician, Dani S., and released a new song.

While it is clear that Yamir is still unmarried, it is not public knowledge if he is dating someone in 2023. According to his social media posts, he is likely single, and concentrates on expanding his career. He has presumably moved away from Chicago and settled in California, as most of his posts have Californian locations. The 90 Day Fiancé cast member’s recent Christmas posts show him enjoying street food with a big smile on his face. He captioned his video, “Cuándo me preguntan qué es lo que más disfruto de California,” which translates to, “When they ask me what I enjoy most about California.” Hopefully, the 90 Day Fiancé alum will have a successful career in 2023.
