90 Day Fiancé Season 10: Sam And Citra Might Be The Best Couple (Here Is Why)

Sam Wilson and Citra Herani from 90 Day Fiancé season 10 had an unexpected encounter when they first met due to their cultural beliefs, but turned out to be one of the most intriguing couples on the show. The pair met on an online dating app four years ago. Although they weren’t attracted to each other at first, their conversations turned their online meet-up into a whirlwind romance. However, Sam and Citra’s idea of getting married was questionable due to their religious differences. Nonetheless, Citra convinced Sam to convert to Islam so they could get married.

Sam grew up with a Christian background but became an atheist because of his dad’s influence. Due to his beliefs, Sam was hesitant to convert to Islam, a religion he had little knowledge about, but eventually agreed. Besides their religious differences, cracks started to show in their union, presenting a couple of red flags that were too monumental to ignore. The couple’s path to marriage was filled with many challenges, from Sam’s shocking criminal past to Citra’s discerning dad, but they made it as depicted in the latest 90 Day Fiancé season 10 episode.

Sam Proposing During The Wedding

During the wedding ceremony, Sam got down on one knee to propose to Citra. The gesture was incredibly sweet, considering Sam had already proposed when he visited her in Indonesia. It was also pretty interesting since this was Sam and Citra’s second wedding ceremony, with the first one happening during Sam’s conversion, where Citra “married herself to Sam” while repeating the Imam’s words. Maybe Sam would have loved to propose to Citra again and didn’t get a chance at the Mosque, prompting him to do it during the wedding ceremony.

Sam And Citra’s Wedding Was Interesting

Although Sam agreed to meet Citra’s family halfway by converting to Islam, it still wasn’t enough for Citra’s dad, Herman. When Sam brought a priest as an officiant for his wedding ceremony, Herman didn’t budge, insisting on his daughter getting married according to Islamic traditions. It hadn’t appeared to Sam that he couldn’t use a Christian pastor, and this shocking revelation prompted the 90 Day Fiancé couple to fire the pastor (via 90 Day Fiancé on YouTube).

” I didn’t even realize that it would be a problem having a Christian pastor marry us. There is no time, and we can’t put this off, like, Oh, let’s just get married next month. I don’t have the slightest clue how I’m gonna find someone in an hour to marry us, but I have to figure it out somehow .”

Citra tried explaining to her dad that the pastor wouldn’t follow Christian tradition, adding that they had invited the Imam but couldn’t make it on such short notice. Luckily, Sam’s brother Luke surprised him when he said he was ordained and became their wedding officiant. The couple, who tied the knot in September 2023, had an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family in Cameron, Missouri.

The 90 Day Fiancé duo has been sharing their experiences in Indonesia with Citra’s family and exploring different parts of the country on their social media accounts.
