90 Day: The Single Life star Veronica Rodriguez is wishing for Jamal Menzies to move to Charlotte to stay close to her and avoid the perils of a long-distance relationship. Veronica, 37, is a single mom who debuted in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 3 as a side character in Tim Malcolm’s storyline. Veronica and Tim’s chemistry was undeniable and, after his split with Jeniffer Tarazona, fans wished for Veronica and Tim to start dating. However, Veronica, who briefly dated Justin Foster on Single Life season 3 introduced Kim Menzies’ son Jamal as her love interest in the Tell All.
Veronica picked up Jamal from the airport during episode 4. She admitted that Jamal had been working on his communication and could tell there was a difference as he was responding more quickly and communicating with her more often. However, they were only managing to keep things afloat over the phone. There was no way to grow the relationship when they were apart. Veronica hoped that Jamal would be able to see himself living in Charlotte over time. She didn’t need Jamal to move there immediately, but she needed to know that it was what he wanted in the future.
Challenges In Veronica & Jamal’s Long-Distance Relationship
Veronica and Jamal have an age gap of 10 years, leading to them having differences in their expectations of the relationship. They mutually agreed to date other people after they began dating. Jamal admitted he was sleeping with other women, while Veronica said she was too “lazy” to pursue someone else. At the same time, Veronica was looking for a husband, and at 27, Jamal wasn’t ready to be tied down. They agreed to become “Exclusive” in season 3 and Veronica and Jamal were flying back and forth to meet each other. However, Jamal was extremely bad at communication.
Jamal Refused To Move To North Carolina Because Of Tim
“I think this is gonna be the trip that you’re gonna fall in love with Charlotte,” Veronica told Jamal when she picked him up. Jamal, meanwhile, told the cameras that he didn’t really appreciate the pressure Veronica was putting on him about moving. “I just feel like we haven’t been dating that long yet,” he added. He agreed that it was hard for their relationship to grow when they were living in different cities. Jamal believed that the “room got gray” when Veronica’s friend Tim walked in. It was hard for Jamal to navigate the relationship when Veronica’s ex was “constantly in her ear.”
Jamal wanted him and Veronica to be best friends and not for her to be best friends with her ex-Tim. Jamal wanted Tim to tell him why he didn’t approve of him as a good partner for Veronica. Veronica had invited Tim, Jamal, and Jamal’s friends to hang out together at a local bar. Veronica thought that if Jamal “moved past the Tim stuff” it would put him one step closer to living in Charlotte. Instead, the two got into a fight when Tim questioned Jamal’s treatment of Chloe and Jamal said Tim was not exactly “Father of the Year.” Tim thought Jamal challenging him as a father was “super disrespectful.”

Jamal didn’t feel like Charlotte was a place where he saw himself settling down yet. Veronica realized Jamal didn’t want to “come into a drama situation” with Tim because of the way Tim had attacked him. Veronica had told Jamal that whenever Tim chimed in on their relationship, it was “always from a place of negativity.” It looks like Jamal has dropped any intention he ever had of moving to Charlotte after the scuffle with Tim. Or perhaps Jamal decided to end things with Veronica entirely. Jamal has mentioned his current location in his Instagram bio as San Diego. The 90 Day: The Single Life star hasn’t moved to Charlotte.
