90 Day Fiancé: Guillermo Shouldn’t Have Gone To Venezeula Alone (Is Kara’s Husband Selfish?)

Guillermo Rojer, featured on 90 Day Fiancé season 9, has recently returned to his native country, Venezuela, leaving behind his partner, Kara Rojer, and their infant son. The 26-year-old Venezuelan made his debut on the show in 2022, joining forces with his American partner Kara, whom he had initially met in the Dominican Republic. Guillermo made the move to the United States alongside Kara early in their journey, working through his discomfort with her wild past. Despite the initial hurdles, Guillermo successfully addressed the issues and went on to marry Kara in a beautiful ceremony, ensuring his family’s virtual presence through a video call.

During their time on 90 Day Fiancé season 9, Guillermo and Kara stood out as one of the least problematic couples. They had relatively few underlying issues, and both embraced the prospect of a new life together. They were also among one of the couples who revealed their pregnancy during the Tell All episode. In December 2022, Guillermo and Kara welcomed their son, Nicolas Antonio. At that point, Guillermo had successfully settled into life in the U.S., not only working as an executive manager at a hotel but also works in sales. Nonetheless, his recent solo trip to Venezuela was a selfish move. ]

Why 90 Day Fiancé’s Guillermo Rojer Left America

Shortly after celebrating his birthday on December 2, 2023, Guillermo decided to travel outside the U.S., leaving behind his wife and infant son. In January 2024, Kara took to her Instagram to express her feelings about her husband’s departure. The 31-year-old mother of one shared, “I’ll miss him so much, but I couldn’t be more excited for him.” In a video, she documented the moment she dropped Guillermo off at the airport, explaining the purpose of his solo trip. Kara elaborated, “7 years without his country and family is a long time,” revealing that he was heading back to Venezuela to visit his relatives and see his country.

90 Day Fiancé’s Kara Rojer Was Left Behind With A Baby

When Kara and Guillermo joyfully revealed their pregnancy news during the Tell-All episode of 90 Day Fiancé season 9, it was a big surprise for everyone, including them. The young couple were not actively planning for a baby but were thrilled at the prospect of becoming parents. Kara, who was on a bachelorette trip at the time, became aware of a delayed period upon returning home. Taking a pregnancy test, she discovered the positive result. Opting to keep the gender of the baby a surprise, Kara and Guillermo welcomed a baby boy in December 2022, whom they named Nicolas Antonio.

Kara also discussed the duration of time she would be separated from Guillermo. Responding to a fan’s inquiry on Instagram about the length of his absence, Kara mentioned it would be “a lil while,” indicating that she would be responsible for caring for the baby on her own and living as a single mother for a significant period until Guillermo’s return. While refraining from disclosing the exact number of days, weeks, or months her husband would be away, the 90 Day Fiancé alum explained that she preferred not to be specific about his travel plans on the Internet for security purposes.

Guillermo Should Have Waited Until The Baby Was Older

On Instagram, Kara addressed her not joining her husband on his trip to Venezuela, and it was not because she didn’t want to go. However, she explained that the obstacle preventing her from doing so was the challenge of obtaining visas. Kara added that acquiring a visa to Venezuela poses a real challenge for Americans. While she didn’t go into details, the Virginia resident hinted at potential complications or delays in the visa application process that made her trip impossible. It was likely a smoother process for Guillermo, given his Venezuelan citizenship as he traveled back to his home country where he was born.

Though it’s great that Kara appears to be supportive of Guillermo’s trip home to see his family, he shouldn’t have left his wife home alone with a one-year-old baby. As happy as Kara is to be a mom, she now has to play the role of a single mother until Guillermo gets back from his trip. Hopefully, Guillermo won’t be gone too long, as Kara shouldn’t have to be a single mother when she has a husband.

Guillermo & Kara Have Had Ups & Downs

During an episode of 90 Day Fiancé season 9, the show highlighted Guillermo’s arrival in the U.S., and all seemed well with the couple. However, just two days before their wedding, Guillermo confronts Kara, accusing her of a past that involved infidelity in her previous relationships. It appears that Kara, self-identifying as a party girl, led a lifestyle in America that led to conflicts in her relationship with Guillermo. Guillermo may not have fully grasped the fact that he is marrying a woman who, since the age of 20, has traveled extensively, lived in four countries, and hadn’t been deeply involved in a relationship until she met him.

90 Day Fiancé alums Guillermo and Kara seemed to leave their struggles behind as they embarked on their new life with their baby son, but this separation could put a strain on their marriage. Few couples can overcome long separations, but throw a baby in the mix, and the pressure is even harder to handle. Though, understandably, Guillermo wanted to see his family after seven years of absence, he should have waited until Kara and his son could join him.
