David Dangerfield and Sheila Mangubat have come a long way since featuring on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The Nebraska local and the Philippine woman met online a few years ago. They both faced similar challenges and could relate to each other’s impairment. During 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 6, David flew to the Philippines to meet Sheila for the first time. He wanted to expedite the relationship but was shocked to learn that she lived in a dilapidated house. If that wasn’t tragic enough, he witnessed Sheila lose her mother the very next day.
David and Sheila faced several ups and downs in their relationship when they first met in the Philippines. Sheila felt jealous of David’s interpreter, Aimee. At the same time, David felt worried that he wasn’t doing enough for Sheila, who had just lost her mother. Eventually, they both overcame their fears.
David and Sheila traveled to a romantic resort in Moalboal and got engaged.
The couple asked Sheila’s son’s permission and planned to tie the knot. David moved back to the United States after his engagement. He couldn’t wait to file for Sheila’s K-1 visa.

Initially, David wanted to marry Sheila in the Philippines and apply for a spousal visa in the United States. However, the immigration lawyers revealed that the process could take up to three to four years, which wasn’t ideal. David was told that applying for a K-1 visa was easier and the process would only take two years.
David and Sheila were visibly disappointed by the 24-month-long waiting time. However, they didn’t give up hope and decided to support each other from a distance while waiting for the process to end. David revealed more information about Sheila’s whereabouts when he attended 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 6 Tell All in 2023. He stated that his fiancée would stay in Cebu, waiting for her K-1 visa to be approved. Meanwhile, he’d help her fix her dilapidated home and assist her as much as he could from the United States.

David and Sheila are still together and have maintained a stable long-distance relationship. In March 2024, the American man returned to the Philippines to reunite with Sheila. David posted a romantic video and wrote, “reunited and it feels so good! I’m so happy.” A few weeks later, David shared another cuddly photo with Sheila and proudly called her his “family.” He got nearly 16k likes from fans, with dozens of comments praising his relationship. David and Sheila sparked pregnancy rumors a few months ago. Some social media users noticed that the Philippine woman had a round tummy and assumed she was expecting. However, David shut down the pregnancy rumors. In April 2024, the 90 Day Fiancé franchise star posted a photo with his fiancée, revealing the real reason they looked pregnant. He wrote, “hello fans people! We not (food baby emoji). We are fat of tummy.” David shared that he and Sheila loved eating out. He confirmed their love for food is why they have put on some weight.

David and Sheila have achieved glow-ups since they appeared on TV. In March 2024, David posted a video showing his new blue cap. He looked in great shape and wore a gray top.
