Why Olivia & Brett Were The Worst Couple From Married At First Sight Season 11

Married at First Sight experts have paired some awful couples in recent seasons, but Olivia Cornu and Brett Lindsey were easily the worst from MAFS season 11. While things started decently between the two, it was clear their path forward was unlikely as the season progressed. Olivia is thriving post-divorce, and Brett seems fine as well. It’s time to look back on why they were the worst couple of the season.

Olivia and Brett were joined by four other couples from New Orleans on Married at First Sight season 11: Christina Croce and Henry Rodriguez, Miles Williams and Karen Landry, Amani Aliyyah and Woody Randall, and Bennett Kirschner and Amelia Fatski. While not initially the worst couple, their issues grew until divorce seemed inevitable. They weren’t the only couple to divorce on or after MAFS season 11 but were certainly the most shocking.

Both Olivia & Brett Weren’t Ready For Marriage

Unlike other couples on MAFS season 11, neither Olivia nor Brett was ready for marriage. In fact, despite their initial attraction, it seemed Olivia craved a travel buddy more than a husband. Brett seemed to disagree with Olivia on almost everything and was consistently portrayed as immature. His bad attitude on the honeymoon led to their first big fight, as rating their marriage exposed how unhappy the pair were. While they may have thought they were ready for marriage, they weren’t, at least with each other.

Worst of all, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Olivia’s job as a travel nurse created more friction, with Olivia dealing with the worst of the pandemic and Brett unable to understand her stress. When visiting her parents, Brett silently left the house empty, even taking the food in the fridge. They decided to split before Decision Day.

Other MAFS Season 11 Couples Had Better Love Stories

While the MAFS experts have done an increasingly bad job at pairing couples on the show, MAFS season 11 produced two long-lasting pairs: Amani and Woody and Miles and Karen. Amani and Woody have a YouTube channel together, where they talk about MAFS, marriage, and parenting. They gave birth to their first child, Reign Randall, in 2022. Miles and Karen engage online less frequently together but are still happily married. The signs of these two couples staying together were obvious on the show, as they seemed well-matched and happy. Olivia and Brett’s happiness was short-lived, and couldn’t survive the COVID-19 pandemic interrupting filming.

Luckily, Olivia and Brett seem to be doing much better without each other. Brett seems to focus most of his online energy on his cat, and while he was rumored to be dating, he seems to be single in 2023. Olivia moved on with MAFS season 14’s Chris Collette, but their relationship was short-lived. She continues her work as a nurse and also hosts a true-crime podcast, Check the Locks. While their time together was tumultuous, both Olivia and Brett are doing much better without each other. Brett’s villainous move to ditch Olivia made them the worst couple of Married at First Sight season 11; thankfully they’ve recovered.
