CBS has renewed Sydney and announced the new Mark and Sean Harmon-produced Young Gibbs series Origins. Also, Paramount+ is making a new NCIS Ziva and Tony spinoff. But, what about the Mothership? Has NCIS been renewed for Season 22?

As of now, it has not. However, on April 15, CBS will air the 1,000 NCIS Universe episode on the Mothership with the episode “A Thousand Yards.” That is Episode 7 of the season, with just three more episodes remaining this season. What they plan to do for this historic episode is going to be quite a feat that has never been done in the series before.

Co-showrunner David North told TV Line “One of our own beloved characters is going to end up in grave danger, and you’re going to see all of the different franchises brought into this in a little bit of a different way.”

The other co-showrunner Steven D. Binder added, “There’ll be a personal storyline, and this one will circle around Director Vance.”
