Miguel Santiago’s Journey to Recovery: Overcoming Spinal Surgery Challenges

Miguel Santiago, known from Married at First Sight Season 15, has been absent from social media lately, and the reason behind his hiatus has now come to light.

Undergoing spinal surgery, Miguel is currently in the process of recuperation. In a recent social media update, he reassured his followers that the surgery went smoothly, and he is now gearing up to reclaim his life.

It’s been a tumultuous period for Miguel, battling spinal stenosis alongside a herniated disc, which inflicted severe lower back pain upon him.

In an attempt to alleviate chronic flare-ups, the 37-year-old implemented lifestyle modifications, including adopting an anti-inflammatory diet and incorporating daily stretching routines. Despite his efforts, the condition persisted, reaching a point where it impaired Miguel’s ability to stand upright and walk comfortably.

Faced with this challenging reality, Miguel made the courageous decision to undergo surgery, a choice he recently shared with his audience as he embarks on the path to recovery.

Miguel’s absence from social media since the summer of 2023 raised concerns among his followers, especially considering his ongoing battle with chronic pain. However, in March 2024, he resurfaced on Instagram with a poignant update on his health journey.

Recording a video the day before his surgery, Miguel expressed both physical discomfort and a glimmer of hope for relief. “Surgery was yesterday and feeling hella sore but also hopeful that maybe I can finally heal from my spinal stenosis and herniated disc,” he remarked, acknowledging his prolonged absence and expressing his intent to serve as a beacon of support for others facing similar challenges.

Sharing another video showcasing his progress, Miguel highlighted the stark contrast before and after his surgery. From being hunched over and unable to stand straight, he exhibited remarkable improvement just three days post-operation, now able to stand tall with ease.
