Married at First Sight: What Happened To Becca Haley After Season 17?
Becca Haley was a cast member on Married at First Sight season 17, which recently ended, and it’s time for an update on her current life. The Married at First Sight experts Dr. Pepper Schwarts, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec matched Becca with Austin Reed. Season 17 took place in Denver, and several unprecedented things happened. Cast member Michael Shiakallis was matched with his original bride who ditched him at the altar. He was then rematched with Chloe Brown, and they joined the season while the other couples were already halfway through.
The cast of Married at First Sight season 17, excluding Chloe and Michael, took part in an attempted group dupe led by Camero Frazer. They aimed to control the optics and their storylines and only present positive things so that they would get good edits and make themselves look good on TV. While Becca, Emily Balch, Lauren Goodger, and Clare Kerr went along with the falsity, they harbored animosity toward their husbands and the other men of the season for caring more about optics than their marriages. And the dupe backfired.
Becca & Austin’s MAFS Journey
When Becca and Austin met at the altar they had an instant spark and chemistry. The morning after the wedding, Becca told Austin about the several medical conditions that hindered her life, and he was very supportive and accepting of them. The pair showcased their similar senses of humor on the honeymoon and seemed to be the standout couple who were only going to get better. However, that did not happen. Becca wanted a faster intimacy pace than Austin and consistently pressured him toward sex but then felt rejected when he wanted to take things slower.
On top of that, Becca called Austin “combative” and “dismissive,” for bringing up the things that were bothering him in their marriage (via Lifetime.) Moreover, Austin felt like Becca was trying to make him look bad on camera. Ultimately, the pair said yes to each other on Decision Day based on their previous chemistry, but Becca broke up with Austin during the group gathering the next day after she caught Austin lying about hanging out with their producer the night before.
Becca Became Best Friends With Emily, Clare, and Lauren
During the season, Becca had a good relationship with the other women of the season besides Chloe. The friendship with Emily, Lauren, and Clare intensified after all of their marriages didn’t work out and they set out to blame the season 17 men for their marriages not working out. Come the Reunion, Becca and the rest of the women’s resentment and animosity was intense and they banded together to call out the guys. Chloe, who felt targeted by the women, called them mean girls who didn’t want to heal.
While Becca and the girls made themselves look scorned and bitter, they didn’t seem to care and are still friends who hang out and do things together.

Since Becca is self-admittedly bad at social media, it’s hard to know if she has gone public with anyone. However, based on the Married at First Sight “Where Are They Now?” episode, she and Austin do not talk and are not even friends. At the Reunion, Becca said she would revisit having a potential friendship with Austin in a few years.
