Married At First Sight Season 6: 1 Couple That Is Still Together (And 2 Who Are Not)

Married At First Sight season 6 aired in 2018, and the couples have been through a lot since then. This season of one of the best reality TV shows, featuring pairs from the Boston area, packed a punch with drama, love, surprises, and more. As fans await Married At First Sight season 18, it’s time to unpack one of the earlier iterations. Many couples split on Decision Day, leading to calls for the MAFS experts to do better in season 18. Are any of the couples that married at first sight still together today?

Marrying a stranger with absolutely no prior meeting is always a risky proposition. As expected, it does not always work out, and couples who seem destined for a life of love eventually end up going their separate ways once the cameras stop rolling. The three couples from MAFS season 6 have been out of the spotlight for four years and have all developed their marriages in different ways.

Shawniece Jackson And Jephte Pierce

Shawniece and Jephte got along well from the first episode, but growing into romantic chemistry took longer. Shawniece, who was much more ready to enter marriage, had to be patient with the much more timid Jephte. Their love for each other grew as the season progressed, and they decided to remain together on decision day. They established the foundations of a long-lasting marriage on the show and said they hoped to stay together long-term in the “real” world.

Shawniece and Jephte are one of Married At First Sight’s best couples, and their bond has translated to their lives without cameras constantly rolling. They remain married to this day, showing that their unorthodox way of meeting really can work sometimes. During MAFS season 6’s reunion special, the two told the audience that they even got matching tattoos together, so by doing something so permanent to show their love for each other, it is safe to assume that they will hopefully be married for quite some time.

Shawniece and Jephte were popular while on the show and have stayed in the spotlight since their season concluded. The couple has had a child since appearing on Married at First Sight, welcoming their daughter Laura Denise Pierre to the world in August 2018. Shawniece posts videos on her YouTube channel featuring vlogs and updates on her life. The pair remain active online and regularly make updates.

Molly Duff And Jonathan Francetic

In theory, Molly and Jonathan looked like they could have been a great match. The two were of similar ages from similar places with overlapping careers, and they had some hobbies and interests in common with each other. Unfortunately, the spark was not there in real life, and they had problems on the show. The two would often disagree and bicker, culminating in Molly admitting that she simply was not attracted to her new husband. On decision day, the two decided that their marriage was not going to work out, deciding it would be best if they divorced.

As expected, the two remained broken up after their season finished. Even without the pressure of cameras rolling while they got to know each other, their relationship was far too strained and irreparable to work out. The two have gone their separate ways, and they were not one of the rare couples who try to rekindle their romance after breaking up in front of the camera. Considering how they were with each other during their screen time, that is probably for the best.

Molly and Jonathan’s lives since their appearance on the show have been two of the most notable of any MAFS alumni for opposite reasons. Despite such a short marriage, both have become infamous in the show’s community. However, one experienced more positivity than the other.

Molly’s time after the show was very upsetting, as she received death threats and harassment for no apparent reason. However, she seems to be doing better as the years go on, enjoying the single life with her friends. In a shocking twist, Jonathan married Dr. Jessica Griffin, a matchmaking expert on MAFS. After Jonathan married Jessica, it wasn’t surprising that the former marriage expert left the show. They’re still happily married today. While unconventional, Jonathan’s MAFS story worked out for him.

Jaclyn Schwartzberg And Ryan Buckley

Jaclyn and Ryan also seemed like a perfect pairing for the season. Jaclyn had a lifelong fantasy of being with a firefighter, and Ryan was able to fulfill this. They got along well, had a clear physical attraction between them, and were able to resolve their arguments before they got too heated. On the decision day episode, the two chose to continue their new marriage to one another. The potential of a loving union was shown in their season, and it did appear they had a good chance to turn their love on camera into love in their everyday lives.

Unfortunately, their romantic bond was not strong enough to last long beyond the season. Jaclyn and Ryan announced their divorce a few months after leaving the show, with a source telling People that they realized they worked better as friends. It’s always more pleasant and easier for fans to handle when it’s a cordial breakup without any scandal, but any post-MAFS separation is always a sad story to hear.

Jaclyn quickly healed from her divorce and the stress of appearing on reality TV as she remarried soon after MAFS. She tied the knot with her boyfriend Dane in the fall of 2020, and the pair are still married, having welcomed their first child, Emilia, in June 2022. Ryan has remained out of the spotlight, so updates regarding his personal life are unknown.
