Married at First Sight Season 17: Why Cameron Is An Inconsiderate Partner (Can He Improve?)

Married at First Sight season 17 alum Cameron Frazer presented himself as inconsiderate towards his new bride, Clare Kerr, on the latest episode, but he may be able to redeem himself. Cameron and Clare were one of four couples who got married to a stranger on the hit reality TV show. Joining them were Orion and Lauren, Brannon and Emily, and Austin and Becca. Another cast member, Michael, was meant to get married but was met with a runaway bride at the altar. However, Michael will be offered a second Married at First Sight chance by the show’s experts.

The experts, Pastor Cal, Dr. Pepper, and Dr. Pia, are tasked with making the matches based on different compatibility factors and the participants’ wish lists. The experts have only had a 6% success rate over the last three seasons and have a lot of making up to do to fans who want to see successful matches. Cameron and Clare were matched based on their active lifestyles and inner confidence. Their love of family and dedication to those they love are what the experts feel make them a good match.

Cameron Was Not Attentive To Clare While Traveling

Cameron and Clare were the first Married at First Sight season 17 couple to get into a disagreement. Clare complained that Cameron did not walk with her in the airport and left her behind several times during the traveling process. Moreover, she disliked how Cameron did not offer to handle the larger bag. Cameron said he thought Clare was independent and capable, as the reason why he didn’t offer to help, but Clare said she still wanted him to provide his help despite her being independent.

Cameron is still trying to figure Clare out and is getting mixed signals on how she wants him to treat her. Cameron thought he was doing the right thing by letting Clare wrangle the large bag by herself. However, he appeared aloof and inconsiderate to the fact that his behavior created a problem in Clare’s eyes.

Cameron and Clare Have Different Communication Styles

Cameron said during an interview and while he met with Clare’s friends and family after the wedding that he shows love physically. He relayed that it is hard to draw words and emotions out of him by talking and that he prefers acts of affection to communicate his feelings. Clare, on the other hand, needs clear communication and wants Cameron to tell her how he’s feeling. Being more considerate and opening himself up to different communication styles are two major things Cameron will have to improve on if he wants to make Clare happy and feel supported.

Cameron Wants to Get To Understand Clare

During their disagreement, Cameron expressed willingness to learn the communication requirements of his spouse and try to meet her in the middle. Cameron and Clare are presenting as very different people regarding how they want their partner to act towards them, but with some work and openness, they can get past their initial growing pains. During the next episode of Married at First Sight, viewers will watch another tense communication interaction between Cameron and Clare, with Clare pointing out that Cameron has to put himself out there. More will be revealed about whether Cameron can step up and be what Clare needs.
