Tragic news for fans of Married At First Sight (MAFS) as Mark Maher from Season 14 was forced to mourn the tragic death of a loved one days before Christmas.
The Lifetime personality took to Instagram late last night to break the heartbreaking news with his 55K followers. Sadly, he took to Instagram a second time just an hour later with an equally heartbreaking update. This wasn’t the first death he had to mourn this year. Likewise, this passing makes the list as one of the three most difficult experiences in his life.

MAFS Mark Maher Mourns Tragic Death Days Before Christmas
Just two days before Christmas, Mark Maher’s beloved feline, Chloe passed away. The MAFS personality was heartbroken as Chloe had been in his life for over a decade and a half. He had experienced her “unconditional love” for 16 years. And, he was heartbroken to have to say goodbye.
Mark shared a collection of photos of his sweet baby girl as he broke the news. The first photo was of him with his head pressed against her body as he tragically said goodbye. Mark added that he loved Chloe as if she were his child.
Thank you for always loving me and being there for me during my ups and downs over 16 years … I’ll always love you and I’ll forever miss you
He thanked her for all the wonderful times they had together over the years. And, he hoped she was over the rainbow bridge with the other two furbabies he had to say goodbye to that were once her siblings.

Familiar Heartbreak
In a second Instagram post, Mark Maher shared a collage containing all three photos of him saying goodbye to his three cats. Sadly, Rocky and Chloe both passed away this year. JC passed away two years ago in September 2021.
He penned in the heartbreaking caption: “Three of the hardest moments in my life – saying bye”
Married At First Sight fans couldn’t imagine losing all three of their furbabies so close together. They were devastated for Mark as he was forced to mourn the cat who was essentially his daughter for the last 16 years just two days before Christmas.

MAFS fans gathered around Mark in the comments of his two sad posts to embrace him. They apologized for his tragic loss. Here’s what some fans had to say amid heartbreak:
