Jason Morgan Returns To General Hospital Covered In Blood

General Hospital fans won’t have to wait long for presumed-dead Jason Morgan to turn up in Port Charles. Steve Burton announced in January that he would be returning to the soap he called home for over twenty years. He was fired from the sudser in 2021 after refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine. ABC has since dropped the mandate, sparking Steve Burton to return.

A man with short brown hair.

Luckily for die-hard Jason Morgan fans, the soap films about a month in advance. Steve Burton will be back on-screen in the coming week. His first airdate is Monday, March 4, but soap fans can expect a cliffhanger ending on that episode, with his real return starting the next day.

PEOPLE magazine obtained exclusive images of Jason Morgan’s return and it’s a bloody mess, literally. The photo shows the Quartermaine offspring in his usual all-black attire, hiding behind a dumpster with one of his hands covered in blood.

The outlet notes that Jason Morgan (and Steve Burton) were last seen in November 2021, when the character was buried under rubble after a tunnel collapse. Jason was trying to save his brother Drew (Cameron Mathison.)

Fans have speculated that an amnesiac Jason Morgan is the one behind a string of shootings involving Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his cohorts. Why he’s covered in blood remains a mystery. Is there a second shooter?

Is There Another Shooter?

The soap internet is abuzz with rumors of another surprising return connected with Jason Morgan coming back to Port Charles. If Jason Morgan is the shooter, is he the only one? Soaps.com predicts another return from the dead. The outlet speculates that Morgan Corinthos is alive and well. And he’s also the second shooter.

The character was killed in a car bombing in 2016 when actor Bryan Craig decided to leave the show. He went on to join Freeform’s Good Trouble in 2022. But good news for General Hospital fans who want Morgan back – Good Trouble is ending after five seasons, freeing the actor up for a possible return.

There hasn’t been any official word from ABC or Bryan Craig about reprising the role of Morgan Corinthos. Fans will have to tune in to see if the online rumor comes true.

Many General Hospital fans are beyond excited to see Steve Burton back on the soap. The hashtag #JasonMorganReturns has been a popular one on Twitter.
