‘Golden Bachelor’ Triggers 50yrs+ ‘MAFS’ Season?

Married at First Sight a.k.a MAFS brings couples who never met until they meet in the aisle, but is the show changing direction and aligning with ABC’s Bachelor Nation? Actually, it seems unthinkable that the Lifetime show would have dozens of contestants vying for the heart of the Lead character. So, what’s going on with fans who talk about the two different networks? Read on to find out.

MAFS & Bachelor Nation Crossover?

It’s rather difficult to find many similarities between the two reality TV shows. Additionally, the Lifetime show seems to draw more furious fans and critics. That’s probably because the couples are not always well-matched by the relationship experts. If you are not sure about it, experts match people who then meet, marry, and spend a night in a hotel. After that, they set off to enjoy a honeymoon. Thereafter, they have to remain living together as a couple until Decision Day. That’s when they either stay together or opt for a divorce.

Unlike MAFS, the main Bachelor Nation shows usually introduce a lead personality. They meet potential suitors and each week, they eliminate somebody. That narrows it down until eventually, only a handful remain and they select one to give them their final rose. Often a marriage proposal follows, but not everyone sticks with the person they became engaged to. Plenty of drama comes when indecisive people like Peter Weber flip-flop. So, they are very different in their plotlines. Nevertheless, there is a possible way to cross over.

MAFS Crosses Over With Golden Bachelor?

If you love the current format of the Lifetime show, you can relax, because that probably won’t change. However, it looks like they might take a leaf from ABC’s book. @MAFSfan on Instagram shared about an upcoming spinoff from “The producers of Love Is Blind and Married At First Sight.” The poster that they shared was a casting call and singles wanting to apply need to be over 50 years old.

The caption on the post said, “Spotted this yesterday! I know “The Golden Bachelor” is starting next week, so seems like the MAFS production company is following suit. What do you think of the idea of this?” The ABC spinoff keeps the same format as it’s predecessors and it looks like the Lifetime one will as well. People who knew MAFS reacted in the comments. Did they love or hate the idea?

Fans React In The Comments

One MAFS fan wrote, “I like this! I feel like I would enjoy the older couples better. 🤷🏾‍♀️.” And plenty of others agreed. Most of them also like the idea of a bit of change.

Another approving follower said, “…i love it! maybe we will get actual people that are ready for the experiment instead of 20 something that don’t even understand marriage.”
