General Hospital Spoilers: Takes A Page Out of Days of Our Lives Storytelling – Is Charlotte Cassadine Possessed?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that fans should brace themselves for a major shocker. However, viewers have already been completely caught off guard by the recent events that have transpired in the land of Port Charles.
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) has been through a lot as of late. She may or may not have been a target for a shooter, her house was burned down, and her hotel room was recently ransacked.
Fans now know that Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was behind the hotel incident, and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) have worked overtime to lie and cover up what Charlotte’s done.
Some fans initially speculated that Charlotte’s actions were out of jealousy or resentment towards Anna. After all, she has been fully occupying her Papa’s time, and with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) in a coma, Charlotte’s been missing that “real” family environment all children crave.
Still, all this speculation was tossed to the side during the close of the Wednesday, September 20 episode, as fans creepily watched Charlotte pull out some Tarot cards, and with an evil smile on her, start to line them up in a curvy path.
On the cusp of Halloween season, it looks like this storyline is going dark. But are GH writers taking a page out from a Days of Our Lives (DOOL) storyline?
Whether you are a fan of DOOL or not, you are likely aware of Marlena Evans’s (Diedre Hall) infamous “Devil” storyline where she was possessed not once, but twice in her lifetime (in 1994 and more recently in 2021).
Still, during this last stint, Satan wreaked major havoc on not only possessing Marlena, but a number of other characters in Salem, including her grandson Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Is GH going the same route with Charlotte? It wasn’t just the Tarot cards, but the eerie smile the 15-year-old had while unfolding them. It wreaked “evil”.
It’s likely Charlotte is behind the fire at Anna’s house, and if so, these acts could’ve been justified by her unstable homelife, jealousy towards Anna monopolizing her dad’s time, and part of the behavioral issues that she’s had since a young girl.
Still, some fans have speculated that Charlotte may take on the vile tendencies of her grandmother Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers), but will the show decide to go heavier than just “the apple doesn’t fall far from the Cassadine tree”?
