General Hospital spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) never shy away from the opportunity to sit down and catch up. These two have a lot of respect for and history with each other. But Sonny hasn’t seen Laura since he learned from Ava Jerome (Maura West) that she killed Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss). Sonny was complicit alongside Ava as they both let Laura travel far and wide looking for someone they knew was a dead man — or so they thought.
When Laura lets Sonny know her travels resulted in the security of knowing Nikolas was alive and well, spending his money — and avoiding taking responsibility for his actions — he will be stunned. Of course, he’ll know how to hide that, but he’ll also be eager to take it back to Ava.

When Sonny tells Ava he knows Nikolas is alive, she’s not going to believe it. She may think he somehow misinterpreted something.
She may assume Laura got it wrong or the bank lied to her. But the truth is, everyone has been lying to Ava. It may require Sonny walking her through things step by step.
Of course, he wasn’t there when she passionately clocked Nik over the head with an iron knickknack. When Ava insists she knows he’s dead because she saw him herself, she may recall that she wasn’t positive.
It was Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) who assured her he was — just before Nikolas’ body was suddenly gone.

Ava will want to hear this information from Laura’s mouth herself. It’s not that she doesn’t trust Sonny, but maybe she thinks she can glean more information speaking to her former mother-in-law herself.
When that turns up little in the way of insight to finding where Nikolas might be, Ava will be forced to default to letting Sonny handle this matter the best way he knows how.
Sending Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to snoop around Austin’s activities since February and his potential interactions with Nikolas might be a starting point, but none of them will be expecting to learn Austin was housing and caring for Nikolas for six months before he took off a few weeks ago.

Where Nikolas is now is anyone’s guess. Austin’s insistence that he doesn’t know won’t go far with anyone he’s ticked off. Sonny certainly doesn’t trust him, and every bit of Ava that once wanted to or relied on him will question every memory she has with the guy now.
Nikolas could be anywhere, and he knows what Ava did to him. Her only saving grace is that he doesn’t want to come back to town where he could be held accountable for his actions against Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). But Ava knows his reach, and she knows that doesn’t mean she and Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) are safe.
