General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus & Obrecht Dangerous New Couple – Controversial Pairing Shakes Things Up?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has been frustrated over his attempt to reenter society and create a new image. Although Cyrus claims he’s a changed man, there aren’t many people in Port Charles who’ll ever truly accept that he’s reformed.
That might be something Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) could relate to since some PC residents still view her as a villain. Obrecht has turned her life around, but it’s hard for some people to look beyond her shady history.
As luck would have it, Liesl is single at the moment.
Obrecht just couldn’t get past her issues with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), so their recent GH scenes seemed to offer closure on their breakup.
That could open the door for a new romance – perhaps a challenging one that Liesl doesn’t see coming. Could Cyrus turn out to be Obrecht’s perfect match?
Liesl has problems with Cyrus just like everyone else in Port Charles, but she might fall for him anyway.
There’s no denying that Cyrus and Obrecht would make an entertaining couple! No one could predict what a duo like Liesl and Cyrus could do once they put their heads together.
Obrecht has been struggling ever since the demise of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), especially since she lost Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) first.
A huge chunk of Liesl’s family is gone, so she’s having a hard time with that. Perhaps Cyrus could understand as someone who’s been craving a family his whole life.
Liesl is arguably more reformed than Cyrus is at this point, so she could be a good influence on him. Then again, maybe Cyrus could be a bad influence on Obrecht instead!
Regardless, a Liesl and Cyrus pairing would definitely be shocking news in PC.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) would wonder what the heck Liesl was thinking and might threaten to keep James West (Gary James Fuller) away from her.
Likewise, Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) might try to talk some sense into Liesl as well and worry about the drama Cyrus could drag her into.
Obrecht has always been a fascinating, complicated character, so maybe the show will pair her up with someone equally intriguing and complex.
