General Hospital Alum Ryan Peavey Announces Acting Retirement

Ryan Peavey is a name and face dear to many General Hospital fans. Even though he hasn’t been part of the soap for the longest time, fans still remember his arc on the soap fondly. For the unversed, he portrayed the role of Nathan West on GH from 2013-2018. After his exit from there, he went to do some wonderful roles in a string of Hallmark movies.

However, it seems the actor has had his fill of acting and screen time! In a shocking turn of events, the famed actor announced to Heavy.com that he has decided to step away from acting. now, the GH alum has taken to his Instagram account to make a formal announcement to his fans and followers and also to set the record straight about certain things.

In his post, Ryan Peavy opened up that he felt unsure if he should even be making the statement or not. But he still went on to share that even though he is used to a certain degree of gossip, things have gotten a bit too out of hand recently. He pointed out that his statements and his words have been distorted to fit the narratives of the third parties.

He then moved on to share that he has decided to step away from acting. It was something that he had been feeling the need to do for quite some time. Ryan admitted that the industry doesn’t feel like the right place for him and that his mental health had been suffering due to it. He even apologized for previously venting his frustration publically.

“It’s taken me to a bit of a dark place, made me into a version of myself I don’t like very much. I’ve vented some of my anger and frustration publicly, and for that, I apologize,” Ryan asserted. He also shared that he has left Los Angeles to be closer to his mother. Furthermore, he assured his fans that his leaving was not a bad thing at all.

Ryan asserted that he has so much to be grateful for between his work at Hallmark, and his debut with General Hospital. He especially expressed his gratitude towards the ABC soap for giving him a chance even though he was a newbie! In the end, he thanked everyone for being a part of his journey and hoped that there would be more ahead!

We are truly heartbroken to see him leave the acting industry. But we do wish him all the best with his life!
