90 Day Fiancé star Karine Martins shocked her Instagram followers by claiming that her husband Paul Staehle is missing. The Louisville, Kentucky, man was first seen on the reality TV show with Karine in 2017. Paul met Karine online and flew to Brazil to meet her in person on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The couple had a communication and age gap, but things between Paul and Karine got really ugly after they got married. The couple had public fights on social media, as viewers got to witness multiple scandals such as cheating, kidnapping, and even a custody battle for their kids that’s apparently still ongoing.
Paul, 40, and Karine, 27, were last seen in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 5. With no news of their return, the only way fans have been able to get updates about Paul and Karine is via their Instagram pages. Karine’s latest Instagram Stories, however, have been strange and worrying.
Karine shared an Instagram Story first in Portuguese, that read, “Paul desapareceu ontem à noite orações para que ele seja encontrado seguro.” Karine used a gif sticker, “Send prayers.” She then translated her message in a different Instagram Story. Karine posted, “Paul went missing last night in Brazil. Prayers he is found safe,” with a praying hands emoji. Karine’s next few Stories didn’t make it look like she was worried about her missing husband. She even posted a Story about the sushi she was having for breakfast and a message of “live laugh love,” for some odd reason.
Are Paul & Karine from 90 Day Fiancé Still Together?
News of Paul and Karine’s split was first reported in December 2021. A video showing Karine allegedly harming Paul in the presence of one of their sons was posted online. Karine went ahead and filed a restraining order against her then-estranged husband in the same month. The couple lost custody of their sons in the wake of the videos surfacing online. Paul was reported missing along with his then-3-year-old son Pierre in June 2022. Paul claimed he was never missing and that he was on a long work trip.

The kids are supposedly in foster care now as Paul and Karine are trying to get them back. In June 2023, Paul said he forgave Karine for their toxic past. He promised they would raise their sons in a healthy and non-toxic environment if they were given custody. Paul and Karine seemingly got back together, but it looks like Paul has been in Brazil. Karine was last seen dating Bachelorette alum Josh Seiter, whose supposed death was recently posted on Instagram. Josh is actually alive (the drama was allegedly the result of someone hacking his account), but upon hearing news of Paul and Karine’s reconciliation, Josh claimed he was very upset.
Paul, meanwhile, had sparked rumors of a romance with a 17-year-old girl in Brazil who often showed up on his Instagram. The 90 Day Fiancé alum also posted cuddy pictures with the 17-year-old girl’s 18-year-old aunt, resulting in a lot of confusion. Regardless, Karine’s claims about Paul going missing in Brazil are indeed shocking. Regardless of what’s happening, hopefully, Paul safely returns to the U.S. to reunite with his wife and kids.
