News of 90 Day Fiancé alum Leida Margaretha’s arrest is making viewers curious about her past on the reality TV show. Eric Rosenbrook was 40 years old when he met the 29-year-old Leida on an international dating website. She had responded to a personal ad on the website posted by the divorced father of three kids. Eric proposed to the Indonesian native after spending just two days together. Eric worked as an avionics technician. He was a former U.S. Marine from Baraboo, Wisconsin. Leida, from Jakarta, was a single mom. She claimed to have gone to medical school to be a doctor and was also a model.
Eric had three daughters: Taneil, 21, Natasha (aka Tasha) 19, and Jeneka, 11. Leida is a mom to her son, Alessandro, who she had with her first husband, Daniel. Leida found it difficult to adjust to Eric’s lifestyle in the U.S. because she said her family back home was wealthy. Still, they got married in the 90 Day Fiancé season 6 finale. Leida and Eric have been a part of multiple controversies during their time on the show and even after, the latest one being Leida’s arrest in October 2023.
Why Has Leida Margaretha Been Arrested?
TMZ reported Leida’s arrest on Monday, October 9, 2023. According to the police in Portage, Wisconsin, they were recently contacted by Loggerhead Deco, a glass bottle decorating business where Leida worked. Leida allegedly made “fraudulent payments and withdraws to several outside business accounts and customers” while using the company’s account information while she was working there. The police were alerted a week ago by the owners. Leida allegedly stole “thousands of dollars” and is now facing charges of theft from a business setting, forgery, and wire fraud against a financial institution. She might have to face more charges as the investigation continues.
Leida Tried to Kick Tasha Out Of Eric’s House
During the December 9, 2018, episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Leida wanted new furniture from Eric and was stressed about his daughter Tasha still living in the house with her, Eric, and her son Alessandro. Leida also didn’t approve of Eric sending child support to his ex-wife. Leida threatened to break up with Eric and leave the country.
“If you’re going to threaten to leave him, get the f*** out of my country,” Tasha said to Leida. However, even if Tasha was by his side, Eric decided to choose Leida over his children and kicked Tasha out. Eric also helped Leida fill out the paperwork for her to get a restraining order against Tasha. Leida dropped the four-year restraining order placed on Tasha in November 2019.
Leida Accused Eric Of Alleged Domestic Abuse
In January 2019, Leida accused Eric of abuse according to TheHollywoodGossip. Screenshots of an alleged text conversation between Leida and an unknown contact saw her claiming, “He pulled my hairs really hard and grab[bed] it until I can stand up,” one of the messages read. Leida was allegedly contemplating ending her life. “He grabbed a knife and abused me after that,” another text alleged. The validity of the text messages wasn’t verified, but E! News reported Eric addressing the “altercation” on Instagram Live, where he claimed, “nothing serious was caused, other than emotional trauma, which is severe,” during the incident. Despite whatever happened, Eric and Leida managed to stay together.
Eric & Leida Threatened To Quit 90 Day Fiancé
Newer 90 Day Fiancé fans may not be familiar with Eric and Leida. The couple has stayed away from the reality TV show since their season. It looked like they had enough of reality TV while their journey to the altar was still being documented on the show. In December 2018, E! News reported Leida and Eric claiming they were receiving death threats from viewers via a social media video. “We are never going to do this again. We put our lives in danger. We put our lives on the front line. I’m telling you guys, we are never going to do this again” Leida said in the deleted post.
