90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Mahmoud El Sherbiny is under fire after his recent arrest amid his return to the reality TV franchise with Nicole Sherbiny. Many are familiar with Egyptian native Mahmoud despite being away from the spotlight for a while. Mahmoud was first seen in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way when his wife Nicole had relocated from Los Angeles to Cairo to give their marriage with Mahmoud a second chance after Nicole had almost divorced Mahmoud. Even though they reconciled, Mahmoud was visibly insecure and controlling of Nicole.
The couple struggled to come to an agreement about things such as her having friends in Egypt or the clothes she was going to wear as a married Muslim woman. Nicole and Mahmoud’s volatile relationship frequently reached a boiling point after their huge fights. Mahmoud agreed to come to the U.S. with Nicole when the season ended. However, Nicole has now suggested that they were involved in another physical altercation where authorities were involved.
Mahmoud Was Arrested For Alleged Domestic Violence

Mahmoud made headlines in February 2024 due to his shocking arrest. Instagram user MerryPants was the first to report that Mahmoud was arrested for alleged domestic violence against Nicole. The misdemeanor incident took place on February 20, 2024, in Los Angeles, allegedly between the couple. It has been reported that Mahmoud’s friend took care of his $20,000 bail and now has to appear in court on March 13, 2024.
Mahmoud will be present in court even if Nicole doesn’t press charges.
Mahmoud Booked Under A Different Last Name
In Mahmoud’s case, the district attorney has the option to pursue the case if Nicole refuses to press charges. According to The Ashley, Mahmoud has been booked under a different last name than the one he goes by on TV, which is Sherbiny. This could mean Mahmoud uses a different name for TV for privacy reasons. Mahmoud was booked into Los Angeles’ Northeast Division station on Wednesday at 2:50 a.m. PST and was reportedly released on the same evening at 8:40 p.m. PST.

Mahmoud’s season of HEA premieres just four days after his court date. Viewers suspect Mahmoud will be removed from the show because of the alleged charges. Two new couples from 90 Day Fiancé season 10, Sophie Sierra and Rob Warne and Ashley Michelle and Manuel Velez, were announced as part of the season, who are likely replacing Mahmoud and Nicole along with Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi after Michael’s recent disappearance. However, Mahmoud still appears in the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8 cast. Like Michael, Mahmoud will likely vanish after getting into a fight with Nicole.
