When & Where Married At First Sight Season 15 Was Filmed

Married at First Sight season 15 premiered in 2022, and it’s time to discuss the series’ filming location and timeframe. That installment showcased some changes, including where the couples filmed, and the experts who had a hand in matching them. Since 2014, MAFS has filmed dozens of unconventional marriages, featuring individuals who never met before walking down the aisle. Whether each season’s couples share similar personality traits and goals, or are opposites who might mesh well together, it’s hard to say how each duo will fare throughout the eight-week experience. Ultimately, every MAFS marriage is put to the test on Decision Day, when individuals must decide whether they’ll remain together, or get divorced.

While some of the newer MAFS seasons have been criticized due to casting choices, the series has grown exponentially since the first season. For example, seasons 1 and 2 were filmed in New York City and the northern New Jersey area, and focused on three couples. It wasn’t until season 7 that MAFS introduced a fourth match, although the series has continuously focused on a different part of the East Coast since season 3. As of 2023, only a handful of marriages formed on MAFS are still intact, including Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner (season 1), Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico (season 5), and Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar (season 8).

While MAFS used to offer East Coast content, season 15 was filmed on the West Coast. The San Diego, California-based pairs cast were Lindy Elloway and Miguel Santiago, Krysten Collins and Mitch Silverstein, Alexis Williams and Justin Hall, Stacia Karcher and Nate Barnes, and Morgan Bell and Binh Trinh. Following the recent departure of Dr. Viviana Coles, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Pastor Calvin Roberson were joined by two new experts. Making their debut on MAFS season 15, as matchmakers and guides, were New York Times bestselling author, motivational speaker and Hollywood producer DeVon Franklin, and psychotherapist, Dr. Pia Holec.

MAFS season 14, which ended in May 2022 with two successful marriages, reportedly began filming during autumn 2021, ahead of its January 2022 premiere date. This makes it different from MAFS season 15, as the now-removed casting application revealed that filming for that season took place in early January 2022. According to Distractify, MAFS takes about three months to film, given its eight-week experiment, which indicates that filming for season 15 likely ended in late March to early April 2022.

MAFS fans enjoyed getting to know the season’s duos, and in August 2022, the series put up a casting call for MAFS season 17. The future season was slated to match individuals located in Denver. It’s true that previous MAFS seasons have had a low success rate, although the series has changed in several ways since its debut years ago. Fans have always enjoyed watching the couples’ ups and downs unfold onscreen, and Married at First Sight season 16 is now airing. That installment was filmed in Nashville.
